Wedding in IOP, Folly Beach area

I am hoping to have a small, simple beach wedding in June of this year. The goal is to rent a beach house and just have the ceremony on the beach in front. Has anyone tried this? Any recommendations? Are there any laws governing this that anyone knows of? Also, any recommendations for local florists that may be reasonably priced and event rental places for chairs and an archway?

What a great idea. I do not see personally why this would be a problem for anyone unless you block off the beach access for others, which of course you wouldn%26#39;t.

The prices of beachfront home rentals varies greatly. Do you want everyone staying with you for your honeymoon? To get an idea on what%26#39;s out there and the prices, check www.vrbo.com I%26#39;d recommend Isle of Palms BUT here in the lowcountry you have to check the tide tables. You want to hold your wedding at LOW tide (or pretty close to it, like between 90 min before and 90 min after). Otherwise you won%26#39;t have much privacy or much beach.

As far as rental chairs, etc - there are tons of beach chair rental places (wouldn%26#39;t that be cute!) but I%26#39;m sure if they don%26#39;t have the chairs you need they can give you names. Of course they have tents, umbrellas, etc.

Some of the resorts (like Wild Dunes) have people who will organize this for you if you stay at the resort.

I am getting married on Folly Beach in October of this year. We have rented five beach houses together and will have the ceremony on the beach. The reception will follow on the lawn of one of our houses. Most houses have a maximum number of people allowed (our house max is 50) but you can have more as long as you behave and don%26#39;t park in the street. We are using a florist from California who ships directly from their farm (400 roses for $400-2G%26#39;s Roses) and our caterer, Regal Catering, will provide rentals with the food service. If you have any more questions, don%26#39;t hesitatet to ask. I am almost a professional wedding planner now! :) j/k

Thanks for the post vanessa. This is helpful information. Would you be able to give me the name or contact information for the florist that will ship direct? That sounds like a great idea since I am looking to keep it simple.
