Restaurants which to experience Charleston

My husband and I (we are in our early 30s) will be coming to Charleston (sans child) for 3 nights. Can anyone recommend some restaurants that we wouldn%26#39;t experience anywhere else, either food or for atmosphere? We live in Chicago and have access to high end/trendy/upscale etc restuarants, so we would rather try orginal food, have fun, interesting location, etc. I appreciate any tips!

For me it would be 82 Queen, especially on a night you can eat outside due to their gorgeous ';hidden'; courtyard dining. The food is very Charleston and very good as well.

If you click on ';Restaurants'; (left) you%26#39;ll see links to 82 Queen and MANY other local restaurants. Pick from the first 2 columns if you%26#39;re staying on the Charleston peninsula.

Welcome to Charleston - and ENJOY!

Restaurants which to experience Charleston

My wife and I have had truly memorable southern cuisine at Slightly North of Broad (SNOB), Charleston Place鈥檚 Charleston Grill and the Planters Inn鈥檚 Peninsula Grill. These are our favorite three restaurants in Charleston. All three have first-class service, romantic atmospheres and renowned regional chefs preparing amazing southern cuisine. SNOB is more like a bistro and is slightly less formal than the other two. I don鈥檛 remember the wine list at SNOB, but the Charleston Grill and Peninsula Grill have an extensive and reasonably-priced selection of wines.

Although there are many fine restaurants in the Charleston area, these are the three we still rave about. They鈥檙e that good!

If you will have car, drive over the beautiful Ravenel Bridge to Mt Pleasant and have dinner at one of the several waterside restaurants on Shem Creek, where commercial shrimp boats dock.

We love Slightly North of Broad (Snobs), and it is consistently good
