Questions regarding Bike Week.

My husband and I are going to be at the Wyndham Seawatch Plantation during bike week. What can we expect considering our location? It%26#39;s my understanding that we won%26#39;t be in the midst of all the activity. Is that correct? Thanks.

Questions regarding Bike Week.

Seawatch on Shore Dr is off the main drag. Shore Dr is not a thru street, so you won%26#39;t have as much traffic as you will find on Ocean Blvd. You obviously will not be totally cut off from bikers especailly going to dinner or shopping but it will be much quieter where you are staying then most locations.

Questions regarding Bike Week.

I am not sure where that is but we stayed at the north end of myrtle beach during bike week in October and didn%26#39;t have any problems with it. It was kind of fun seeing all of the bikes.....from a distance. We stayed at Dunes Village so that you can get a reference point. We did run into alot of bikers a few times at places like planet hollywood and such as that but I think they were actually having events there and if you like bars, they were packed but you could basically walk into any place like Cracker Barrel and have the place to yourself.

There is a big difference between May bike week and October bike week. May will bring in several hundred thousand bikers, Oct is much smaller. Shore Drive is located off of Lake Arrowhead Drive, you could say between Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, very close to Restaurant Row.

We%26#39;re going in May, so it sounds like it%26#39;s the busier time. I%26#39;m sure it will be fun seeing all the bikers and we also plan to take a few day trips. The other days hit the beach and relax. I would guess that the traffic will be a bit crazy, but it%26#39;s vacation after all and we won%26#39;t be in a big hurry.

Yes lots of traffic and expect lines at many restaurants. Big thing is just be careful and mindful of the motorcyclists. They will be everywhere.

So You Know Who Is Providing Information Or An Opinion: As I am affiliated w/a business in the Myrtle beach area I must inform you: I am the Executive Vice President of Seaside Rentals Premier Vacation Homes located in Surfside Beach SC.

As a visitor you may be unaware our temperate climate makes us the perfect destination to host multiple spring %26amp; fall bike week festivals %26amp; activities. Depending on which ';bike week'; you are arriving the ';hub'; of activity varies greatly along the 64 Miles of the Grand Strand.

If arriving during the spring 2008; ';Cruisin%26#39; the Coast Spring Bike Week, May 9-18, 2008 most activities are centered in central %26amp; southern portions of the Grand Strand.

';The Atlantic(beach)Bike Festival, May 23 - May 28, 2008 most activities are centered in central %26amp; northern portions of the Grand Strand.

You may wish to search trip advisor reviews for your requested accommodations as there is previous guest who has stayed during bike week! She may be able to offer you the best information regarding your question!

I am sure yui will love the area. May I wish you and your husband an incredible stay with memories that last a life time!

Sincerely, Lynne

Bike week activites are all along the strand. From the NC line to Georgetown. About 75 miles. Murrells Inlet,Surfside, Garden City, on 17 bus is a horror. This stretches all the way to the Harley shop in Myrtle Beach on 17 bus. Everyyear traffic gets worse and worse. The best time to get out is early in the mornings. Lunch time and dinner time is very hectic and traffic backups. Also after dinner. on 17 bus. Night time is the worst. You can hardly see them from side roads. You have cruisers and bikes and cars pulling out in from of each other. Skipping in traffic. So just be very, very careful. Pick and choose when to go and WATCH OUT!

PS. The first part of the week is ok. It gets worse on Wed.

Be careful.

Thanks for all the advice.
