We will be coming to Charleston in April and plan to tour a couple of plantations and maybe some historic homes. Do they allow photographs inside the homes? Especially the Calhoun Mansion? Thanks.

No they don%26#39;t - but take all the photos you want of the courtyards. They sell postcards and books on the Calhoun Mansion in their gift shop.

Unfortunately none of the homes in Charleston let you photograph inside. You can take all the pictures you want of the outside and gardens.
Except we were told on the candlelight garden tours that garden photos were also prohibited! I was good even though the Sword Gate House gardens were SOOOOO tempting and so beautiful!
