holiday inns or another place

Looking for a room in historic district, with price $200%26#39;s or less. Somewhere clean, convenient, and comfortable. The Holiday Inn%26#39;s (Mill House and ';historic district';)have caught my attention. Any comments on these places, or suggestions on somewhere else? Hope to go in mid-March. Thanks

One of my favorites. Good location, ';elegant'; setting, several tours meet in this hotel%26#39;s lobby, nice restaurant, lovely courtyard with fountains, close to restaurants, nice rooms, etc.

Hi Culturehound, do you mean the HI Mill House or the Hi Historic district? Thanks.

Either choice will be good.

The Mills House is a Holiday Inn, but you will not recognize it as such. The Mills House is a very elegant, full-service hotel in the heart of the historic district. There is no better location for enjoying Charleston.

The Holiday Inn Historic District is a little further removed from the best area for walking/shopping/dining, but it gets excellent reviews for value and service.

The Charleston Mills House is owned by Holiday Inn and is a superb hotel. It is so convenient to ALL of the historic districts attractions. I have just returned from that hotel, check out my review on the hotel forum, as well as the several other reviews.

I%26#39;d likely stay at the Mills House if you plan to walk around downtown Charleston. It%26#39;s a little more centrally located to the shops. The Holiday Inn ';Historic District'; on Calhoun Street was totally refurbished a number of years ago but isn%26#39;t as central to the shopping areas of King Street %26amp; the Market. I%26#39;d go with the Mills House.

Thanks! We booked the Mills House. Looking forward to the trip in a couple weeks!
