Southwind Villas - anyone ever stayed there?

We have booked a 3 bedroom for March in Southwind Villas. I have combed the internet and quite frankly, I can%26#39;t find any good or bad....it is like no one has ever stayed there....ummmm any info about the resort would be helpful. I am feeling a little apprehensive about it. Also, if anyone has stayed there, how far is it to the beach?

Sydmo:

There are two Southwinds. There is Southwinds by Spinnaker Resorts in the Shipyard Plantation. This is rated a Gold Crown through RCI (timeshares). You can go on www.spinnakerresorts.com and go under resorts and look at it that way.

The other is Southwind II and I believe that one is near Shelter Cove. There is a report on this resort in the Hilton Head section.

If it is the Spinnaker Resort, we too are staying near the same location at Egret Point in Shipyard, it is a Spinnaker Resort as well (so are the Cottages at Shipyard) Try googling southwind. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll find something, especially on some timeshare sites as this is a timeshare.

Hope this helps,

Me again:

Just noticed as I was closing this window. Look in the beige box just above this post and you will see www.spinnakerresorts. You can get a two bedroom for $99 a night, includes a FREE $50 dining certificate and FREE golf for up to four players daily and FREE tennis. I know they provide two FREE bikes too. This is the deal we booked but for a little cheaper. WE got a three bedroom, 3.5 bath villa that sleeps 8. The FREE golf is at the three Port Royal courses and one in Shipyard Plantation. It%26#39;s a STEAL if you golf. You only pay the golf cart fee which is $35 but for the quality of courses you play, you%26#39;re laughing. These are the courses my husband played over xmas when we stayed in Port Royal. The courses are Barony, Planter%26#39;s Row, Robber%26#39;s Row in Port Royal plus the Shipyard course. Spinnaker is owned by Canadians, so rest assured, it will be nice (coming from a Canadian!)

We are staying at the Southwind Villas during spring break in April (the Shipyard one). Am anxious to hear how your stay was as I too, have not heard anything good or bad about the villas.
