Kiawah late September

My husband and I are turning 50 and celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary this fall. We are hoping to take a nice trip. We visited Kiawah in June 1996 and loved it. The weather was beautiful at that time. What is the weather generally like at the end of September? Rainy? Hurricane Season? We won%26#39;t be interested in getting in pools or the beach, but just hoping for nice warm temps and sunshine. Thank you.

Kiawah late September

Hurricane season lasts from June through November. By visiting the end of September, you do avoid the summer crowds. It%26#39;s still warm.

Do remember this is coastal SC. A rain shower can pop up at any time. I%26#39;ve actually been in Charleston where it was ';flooding'; only to come out to Kiawah and Seabrook and it hadn%26#39;t even sprinkled. I%26#39;ve seen it pour near the entrance of SI and nothing at my house;-)

If you haven%26#39;t visited Kiawah since %26#39;96 you%26#39;re in for a surprise! We%26#39;ve moved ';uptown';-No more driving long, long distances to the grocery store. A new shopping area called Fresh Fields has been developed at the entrance of Kiawah and SI (FWIW, Fresh Fields is actually on Seabrook Island). There are several new restaurants.

Enjoy planning your vacation and Happy Anniversary!
