Few Restaurant favs...we just got back from MB.

Just spent 10 days in Myrtle Beach area. Did some day trips to Charleston and North Carolina beaches. I am listing a few of our favorite eating establishments we went to.

Breakfast: Sea Captains in MB. Pier 14 in MB.

Lunch: RB%26#39;S seafood in Shems Creek. River City Cafe at Surfside Beach. Great view on ocean and great food at cheap price. We ate here 4 times.

Dinner: Sea Captains in MB. By far our favorite place we ate was called The Seafoot Hut in Calabash North Carolina. It was a small place. Looked like a cheap diner on the outside. But what was found on the inside was the best seafood on the east coast. The oysters were out of this world. I am dreaming of it now. I live in Florida and never have tasted such seafood.

Did you stay anywhere in/near Charleston? We are going to Myrtle beach for a week in April and are thinking of spending a night in Charleston-we are travelling with 2 children so are just now trying to figure out where to stay in Charleston.

Where is The Seafood Hut at in Calabash?

Is it close to that Xmas store?

Seafood Hut is on the same side of the street as Callahans Christmas Store, go past the Boundary House Restaurant, Seafood Hut will be the next restaurant you come to on your left. Very small building, always a waiting line. We eat in Calabash all the time, love it.

palmtrees - did you look in Mt. Pleasant? It%26#39;s a quick drive in to Charleston and you get a decent price break.

Thanks for the advice culturehound- we%26#39;ve just started to narrow our search area down to Mt. Pleasant in an area called Shem creek.

Definitely search in the Mt. Pleasant area. Much better rates and a pretty quick drive over the bridge into historic Charleston. Charleston and Mt. Pleasant are on my top 10 all time favorite places in the world. If you have time take your kids to Patriot%26#39;s Point (www.patriotspoint.org). They will love it!

And if you go to Calabash don%26#39;t leave out Calabash Creamery.

You won%26#39;t find a nicer ice cream stop anywhere. Greg and Kristi are great hosts and it%26#39;s obvious they love making their customers happy. It%26#39;s a beautiful shop with excellent ice cream.

Callahan%26#39;s has the most amazing Christmas display and it%26#39;s great to see anytime of year.

Thanks for the food tips- always helpful when visiting places for the 1st time.

Are the areas you visited worth staying overnight?

Considering MB late June with our 20 and 18yr old.

Wonderng if it would be better to stay in Charleston or NC and do day trips to MB.

Did you see any signs of the beach protection project while in MB? thanks

What we love about The Seafood Hut is the food is always hot and fresh. We order the children%26#39;s seafood platter and it is more than enough food for us. The only thing we are not crazy about are the hush puppies. Just get at the back of the line and make friends with people around you. You just take your turn when it is time! In 2 more days, we will be having shrimp, oysters and flounder at The Seafood Hut!!!!!!!!!1

Agree that the Seafood Hut has hot, fresh, FRIED seafood. Service is prompt and friendly. Keep in mind, however, if you are looking for ambience, nice views, wine list, or even a cold beer, can%26#39;t get it there. Seafood Hut is, well, a seafood hut. Simple, fast, tasty, FRIED.
