Residence Inn Charleston Airport

We finally got reservations for 2 bed, 2 bath at Residence Inn Charleston Airport and have a few questions, Please Help if you can.

Can you tell us about the area this hotel is in?

Any advise about this hotel?

We usually stay at the Residence Inn Riverview. How will this one at airport compare with that one?

Any good Restruants Close to this Hotel?

Residence Inn Charleston Airport

It is close to the convention center area as well as the Tanger Outlets/Walmart/Sams. There are all kinds of chain restaurants - Wendy%26#39;s, Chili%26#39;s, Fatz, Chick-Fil-A, IHOP etc. nearby. Also there are some other local places - Chinese, Mexican etc.

I know very little about the property itself. Someone else may know more.

Residence Inn Charleston Airport

SC,

Thank you for the information. We were worried about the area of town after someone told us people come up to you, in the parking lot of the Inn, trying to sell you watches and other items. We were not wanting to stay in seedey area of town with small children. Some times Airport areas in large citys have problems.

North Charleston is not the best part of town, but the hotel itself should be secure. I doubt that you will want to spend much time in the immediate area.

Good news is that, if you have a car, you can get downtown in just a few minutes for dining, shopping, and walking around.

There is one Residence Inn up by Northwoods Mall (I would not recommend this one) and another by the convention center/airport. The later is not in the nicest part of town but it is a new property and should be ok. It is not a place to take an evening stroll or to leave things in your car.

My sister and I stayed at this property a year ago for five days and had no troubles. No strangers lurking in the parking lot. The hotel is close to the highway and it is easy to get downtown. I must say that the staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was one of the best free ones I have experienced. Would stay here again.

rd,

Thank you for the information that makes me feel better. Some people we know stayed there and told us there would be people in the parking lot trying to sell you things when going in to your room or leaving.I have worries about that with small children and had never stayed in the area before. We have always enjoyed the Residence Inn /Riverview when we come down.

I would not recommend this area honestly. I avoid north charleston period. It is also farther from the historic area.
