Myrtle Beach in March

Hi - am looking for a quick getaway at the end of march. We are two single gals just looking to get some time in the sun, away from snow! Is Myrtle Beach a good place for a weekend (if we%26#39;re not going to golf) trip at the end of march? Will there be enough to keep us occupied and interested and is the weather nice during that time of year?

Myrtle Beach in March

If you can%26#39;t find something in Myrtle Beach to entertain you, then you probably need to stay home. We are open for business, went out Saturday night to our favorite night spot, Crocodile Rocks and you would think it was summer, lines waiting to get in. There is shopping, restaurants, great night life, you should not be bored at all. If you are looking to be close to the action then I do suggest you stay in Myrtle Beach, vs North MB, Surfide or Garden City. There is alot to do in a small area and you should not be bored.

Myrtle Beach in March

Perfect! Thanks! I can usually entertain myself in whichever city I%26#39;m in but wanted to get some other opinions!

Just keep in mind that the average high in March is 68 degrees, which may sound warm enough, but can feel very chilly with the ocean breezes blowing off the ocean.

People from far up north find 68 balmy. Passed a swimming pool during lunch time and people were in it.

I bet the pool was heated!

I%26#39;ve seen some on a warm day in the ocean during March; that was not heated. Some outdoor pools are to a certain point. Heated pools are not warm but warm enough to bare it for someone looking to swim.

You have Broadyway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing for shopping, restaurants, and nightlife. You have Dixie Stampede,Medieval Times and House of Blues that have dinner and shows. Carolina Opry, Alabama Theater, Legends in concert, Brookgreen Gardens, Ripleys Aquarium, Imax and Family Kingdom (open weekends)are just to name a few of the things you can visit.

Weather can be from the 50%26#39;s to the 70%26#39;s during the day. At night you will need a jacket. The wind that comes off the ocean makes it colder than what the actual temperature is. Sometimes we have had cold days in April and May. Plus rainy weather too. So be prepared for all.

Right now the wind is blowing so hard off of the water-the stop lights are sideways. Its is really rainy and chilly today and that is not unusual for March. Last April, the week of Easter was also quite cool and rainy. We certainly want you to come down and visit but be aware, this is not Florida and March can run from 30%26#39;s at night to 70 during the day.

Anything is better than freezing rain, then snow then more freezing rain and then more snow, repeatedly, not to mention the temps and wind chill well below zero. :D
