Large family needing condo recommendations

We are a large family with 6 children ranging in ages from newborn to 19. We want to stay in a condo on the beach to make the logistics of such a large family easier. Ie. walking to the beach, washer and dryer in our room, cooking some meals in the room, etc. Does anyone have a suggestion as to where we could stay for a reasonable price of around $1100 for the week of June 14 - 20, 2008? I would like most attractions to be no more than a 20 minute drive and the building to be family friendly (not a lot of partiers) as well as clean.

Ocean front for 8 people in that price range will not be easy. Rates are pretty high mid June. 2nd row may work (on Ocean blvd.), but across the street from the beach. Regardless if you stay in Garden City (south of Myrtle) or Cherry Grove (northern tip of NNB), you will be in the 25-30 minute range to everything. You may have your best options in Cherry Grove (Elliott Realty) or Garden City/Surfside (Dunes or Garden City Realty).

Look off the beach...these are nice, new and about 1/4 -3/8 mile walk to the beach. Lots of public parking lots if you want to drive to the beach. Take a blow up mattress if extra sleeping space is needed.

You should check out the Myrtle Beach Resort. My family and my brother%26#39;s family are going there in August. Very reasonable rates. Make sure you rent directly from an owner as I have heard the condos maintained by the resort are not that great. However, the grounds are said to be kept immaculate by the resort. It is closer to Surfside (the family friendly part of MB). Try vacationsrentals dot com or vrbo dot com. I%26#39;m not quite sure if they have 3 bedrooms condos or not. But they have a lot to offer both adults and kids. In addition, there is a laundry room in each building.

If hotel condo units are individually owned, all units are maintained by the owners including those rented out by the hotel.Things to remember when you rent thru an owner are you may have to go to a different destination which could be miles away to pick up your keys and you may have to supply your own towels.

Was once at a hotel where someone who rented thru an owner did not know his room # and the hotel desk was not able to help them because the unit was not on the rental program. Not meaning to scare you away from this option just make sure you know all the details beforehand.

I work in the legal field, so I was very careful when we signed our contract and made sure it included all the information we needed. Our owner provides all linens and everything you could want at the resort (towels, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, toaster, microwave, etc.). In addition, we don%26#39;t have to worry about keys because there is some sort of password to unlock the condo door that the owner is going to mail to us once we pay the remaining balance. He also is going to mail us a parking pass and the security guard at the complex will have our names already. If you find a good owner at Myrtle Beach Resort like we did, you can get a really nice condo for a very reasonable price.

Some owners provide linens and they are in the price and some will let you bring your own or provide rental linens for you. The owner should provide you with all the information you could possibly want; ask questions and get a rental agreement.
