Hotel Location In The Historic District

We would like to stay in the Historic District. Looking at a map i notice a great concentration of hotels in one area, and then a few more, including the Hampton and the Holiday Inn that are a bit north of them. Is the concentrated area a lot better location? Or is the Hampton and Holiday Inn area pretty good too?

The concentrated area is better but you%26#39;re only looking at maybe an additional 10 minutes walk for the Hampton and Holiday Inn depending on your destination. But for hotel amenities, noise and traffic, they%26#39;re all equal so why would you stay outside the historic district unless you%26#39;re getting a great deal on a room.

I stayed at the Doubletree in the Market area and was very happy that we could walk to every place we visited. The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn are still in walking distance of the Market and the Battery but not terribly convenient.

I think the Hampton and Holiday Inn are a little further north of where I%26#39;d like to be. I believe you have several options in that ';clustered'; area you mentioned, and you need to think about what you want to find there. You want pampered comfort and cost isn%26#39;t an issue, then stay at Charleston Place. Unbeatable location, wonderful staff, and great, comfortable rooms. Want the ambience of a grand, old hotel, then look to the Mills House. Want the attention, and unique comfort of a boutique, then Planters Inn, Indigo Inn, Vendue Inn.... on and on. Want the central location, and maybe little less expense, then try the Doubletree.... Upscale chain hotel? - Rennaissance.... but, I%26#39;d spend a little extra and stay near Market/Meeting/King Streets..
