Folly Beach, Sullivan Island, Edisto Island

We are planning a trip to Chalreston and I have found some nice vacation homes on VRBO that would let me bring my puppy. Some are in Folly Beach, Sullivan Island and Edisto Island. How far are these from Charleston and would you recommend these areas? Also, any good restaurant recommendations for the area? I%26#39;ve read that Folly Beach is nice but I haven%26#39;t read much on the other two places and the beach houses appear to be nicer than the ones at Folly Beach. Thanks

Edisto is not an option if you plan to get in to Charleston daily or just do dinner. I have friends who LOVE it but truth be known it%26#39;s quite remote. Therefore, Sullivan%26#39;s and Folly (and you didn%26#39;t mention Isle of Palms) are the beach options. (In fact, farther out but not nearly as far as Edisto are Kiawah and Seabrook, but they%26#39;re at least 40 minutes away)

Sullivans and Isle of Palms are adjacent to each other and are both north of Charleston near Mt. Pleasant (which you%26#39;ve probably read a lot about since there are many sites in Mt. P to visit). Folly is south of Charleston and would be described as a little more bohemian than Sullivan%26#39;s or IOP.

Tons of restaurant rec%26#39;s - even places where you can bring the pup. (Like Red%26#39;s in Mt. Pleasant).

First, find the right beach for you and pup and let us know which area you%26#39;ll be in and we can give more advice based on that.
