My husband and I are planning a last minute trip to Charleston-will arrive on Friday, and depart on Easter Sunday. We will be driving, and hope to stay in the historic district. Any great brunches on Easter? I haven%26#39;t researched it yet, but hoping to find a Methodist church for service on Easter morning that is in the historic district. This will be our first trip to your lovely town, and any info will be appreciated! Thanks!
Easter weekend?Here%26#39;s 2 Methodist churches downtown...haven%26#39;t been to either but we refer guests to these 2 churches a the hotel where I work:
Centenary Methodist Church
60 Wentworth St
Charleston, SC 29401
(843) 723-4116
Bethel United Methodist Church
57 Pitt St
Charleston, SC 29401
(843) 723-4587
As far as brunches, here%26#39;s a few places I%26#39;d recommend:
Carolina%26#39;s (www.carolinasrestaurant.com) - don%26#39;t typically offer brunch except on Easter Sunday...chef here is AMAZING!
Poogan%26#39;s Porch (www.poogansporch.com) - great bloody marys
82 Queen (www.82queen.com) - next to Poogan%26#39;s
Virginia%26#39;s on King (www.virginiasonking.com) but they do not offer alcohol on Sundays
High Cotton (www.mavericksouthernkitchens.com/highcotton)
I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll get other recs from others as well. Wherever you decide, I would highly recommend making reservations.
Enjoy your visit!
