Crazy to go to HHI for the fourth of July?

Hello everyone,

I would like people%26#39;s opinion as to whether they would avoid HHI for the fourth of July because of the crowds and traffic. The timing in general works well for our family and I thought it might be a fun place to spend the holiday (at the Sea Pines Resort). Thanks for the advice.

Actually our most crowded week of the year is Heritage Week in April.

The most popular weeks in the summer are the last two weeks in July and the first week of August. So, come on down.

i think it would be an excellent choice as once you get in you are there. enjoy your visit!

We went a few summers ago for 4th of July and had a wonderful time. There are fireworks at Shelter Cove and then at night we went to the beach and people were lighting them all over the beach - pretty cool!

The island was crowded, but we had a great time.

What is also really cool is to take an evening cruise and see the fireworks from the water. There%26#39;s several boats out of Shelter Cove that do this. We went last July 4th and had a blast. (And I won third place in the Hilton Head Monthly magazine%26#39;s photo contest last year with a photo from that trip.)

Thank you for your input. We are booked for the fourth!

We were there for July 4th 2007. IT WAS GREAT!!! We got there early (Shelter Cove) and watched the entertainment and fireworks from one of the restaurants.

Our only complaint was bumper to bumper traffic to get home it took 1-1/2 hours even with the police directing traffic. This is to be expected anywhere on July 4th. Would I do it again....you bet!!!
