central/south/north myrtle hotel recommendations

My family is looking at going to M.B in early april- after doing some research it seems that North M.B has nicer hotels so we we%26#39;re planning on booking there- but we%26#39;re questioning our decesion -we are wondering if anyone knows of a nicer hotel (with indoor pool) in central M.B where we can walk to restaurants/stores. Does anyone have an opinon on the difference between north myrtle and south myrtle in hotel differences- we are confused on where to stay if we choose to not stay in centarl M.B. thanks

Please note that MB is not a walking town. You will have to drive to most places. There are some spots along the 60 + miles of the Grand Strand that might have a few places to walk to but not necessarily what you want.

All sections of North MB (It%26#39;s on City) and MB have very nice hotels. I actually think that the Northern Section of Myrtle Beach has some of the nicer hotels with less crowded beaches but the trade off would be not having anything to walk to since it%26#39;s more residential.

An area people refer to as the ';Avenues'; which is still in Myrtle Beach but on the Northern end, has some really nice hotels. You didn%26#39;t mention your budget so how nice are you talking.

Listed below are some hotels that I have seen and personally stayed in or have taken tours of the hotel. And what I mean by that is whenever we go to MB we like to go to several hotels and just walk around and ask can we see a room. This helps us to make a decision for our next trip.

-Island Vista (www.islandvista.com)

-Dunes Village (www.dunesvillage.com)

-Marriott%26#39;s OceanWatch Villas (www.marriott.com)

-Marriott Grande Dunes (www.myrtlebeachmarriott.com)

-Paradise Towers at the Breakers (www.breakers.com) Specifically ask for the Paradise Towers or look online for its accommodations and it will show you the rooms under Paradise Towers

-Anderson Ocean Club Resort

-Caribbean Resort and Villas (www.caribbeanresort.com) Choose the Cayman or Dominican buildings.

Thanks for your help- you%26#39;ve helped clarify the areas for me- the Dunes village was one of the hotels we we%26#39;re leaning towards (because ofthe indoor waterpark)-we are travelling with a 5 and 9 yr. old. Since we are going in April (and it%26#39;s off season) we are inclined to take advantage of cheaper rates at the nicer hotels- the rates seem very good for your basic room at the Dunes- I also looked up the island vista and that looked really good. People keep mentioning the Carribean resort on this forum- so i%26#39;m going to have a look at that.

...also- you mentioned a %26#39;avenues%26#39; section in the North end- what hotels that you mentioned are in this specific area??? thanks

I don%26#39;t know how wide exactly this area is but some of the hotels that are around that area are:

-Grande Shores Resort

-Marriott Grande Dunes

-Island Vista

-Carolina Winds (don%26#39;t know much about the place)

-Ocean Reef

-Caravelle Resort (don%26#39;t know much about the place)-

-Long Bay Resort

-Ocean Forest Villas

Check these places out and see if you would like them. This website has some traveler%26#39;s photos that can give you an inside look of these places from people who have been there and also read their comments. I usually don%26#39;t rely on customer service complaints or other service issues. I am more concerned about cleanliness, ammenities, and accommodations.

There are more hotels in that area and I am sure some other people on here have some more insight. But it%26#39;s a start.
