Advice from Locals

My wife and I (we are in our early 30s)won a golf trip to Myrle Beach and will be staying at The Breakers form May 28th-June 1st.

1) We just found out that our trip will be at the end of Bike week. Will it be busy all weekend?

2) We like hanging out at small bars with a lively atmosphere. No chain restaraunts or bars. Something that a local would hang out at. Anything like this near ';Breakers';?

3) What kind of traffic can we expect in the mornings? We are golfing at 9:00 on Thursday and Friday at Arcadian and Beach wood. How much time should we allow to get there?

4) Any other things a 30 something couple MUST do while we are in MB would also be appreciated.

Thanks for the advice.

Advice from Locals

You will have no trouble from Bike Week, it will be over on Memorial Day which is on the 26th this year. You would be more likely to run into the beginning of Senior Week, where all the graduating seniors come down here to party.

Five O%26#39;Clock Somewhere is a cool bar located at around 18th Ave N. Ocean Annies is great too but that is about 10 -15 minutes from the Breakers

Traffic should be pretty light at that hour of the morning, I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll need to allow extra time for traffic.

I%26#39;m drawing a blank right now on must do%26#39;s, I%26#39;ll think about it and get back to you.

Advice from Locals

Bumz, Dirty Don%26#39;s Oyster Bar and Grill, Soho Sushi and Steaks are all within a short walk or quick drive from where you are staying. Soho has a really ';cool'; feel for Myrtle Beach. The other two are beach type bars. Bumz is right on the ocean with a nice ocean front patio. Also check out the 14th Street Pier, great dining over the ocean. Shark Bites are good. Try Murphys Law if your looking for a dive type bar, we always stop in once it being a Steeler Bar. Hope this helps. You are also very close to Broadway at the Beach, which has Margaritaville good nachos and good ambieance if you like Buffett.

Have a great vacation!

Thanks for all the advice. My wife is sooo looking foward to a nice relaxing weekend. I just want to make sure I can plan ahead to make everything go smoothly.

Of course sometimes it is best to just go with the flow and not plan anything.
