Does Myrtle set off fireworks during the summer and early September? If so where? Are people permitted to set off their own fireworks on the beach?

Yes, there is a fireworks display every Wednesday night in the peak season from the Second Ave. Pier. I believe it is from sometime in June to Labor Day. Someone else may correct me on the dates. I know fireworks are for sale on every corner, but it is illegal to discharge fireworks in Myrtle Beach. I have seen plenty of people set them off on the beach, but a police patrol usually shows up shortly thereafter to stop the show.

What about the 4th of July---are there any special firework displays???

I haven%26#39;t been there since 2006, but that summer they set off fireworks every Monday night at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle and every Tuesday night at Broadway at the Beach in Mrytle. We went to the show at Barefoot Landing and thought it was good. The websites for those 2 places should have info about it. I don%26#39;t have them right now but you should be able to google them and get the info you need.

I%26#39;ve seen plenty of illegal fireworks on the beach %26amp; never seen the cops show up.

I%26#39;m not saying they don%26#39;t enforce the law, just that so many people do it they can%26#39;t catch them all.

If you are in the unincorporated areas of Horry County you can do fireworks (weather permitting) until 11pm. After this Beach Patrol (HCPD) will sweep and clear the beach. They will start at Garden City and go North and then double back.

Broadway at the Beach, Myrtle Beach Pelicans, will set off Fireworks. This year probably Hard Rock Theme Park also. Just don%26#39;t get too close to where they are setting them off because you can%26#39;t see them from the smoke.

If you choose to set off fireworks on the beach, PLEASE pick up your litter. I do that every morning on my early morning walk. It has gotten to the point that there is more firework litter than cigarette butts and pop tops.
