Can anyone tell me what its like at xmas time. What is the weather like, do the hotels do anything special.

We go every year from Christmas to New year, but we own our condo and do not stay in a hotel. Other than Cristmas decorations I am not AWARE of anything special that they do. We like to go to the Christmas Shows that sre still on at Carolina Opry and Alabama Theater until well after Christmas.Average temperature in December is air 60 degrees, water 55 degrees. Much less crowded at that time, but then a fair percentage of restaurants etc are closed for the season also. You will find plenty to do.

The shows close usually the weekend before Christmas and open back up after Christmas. All the hotels decorate. You need to ask the specific hotel you are staying at if they have anything special planned.

The week after Christmas is very, very, very busy. You would not believe the people that are here.

The weather can vary from year to year. There was 12 inches of snow 1 year. 70';s degrees and wearing shorts another. So be prepared for weather in the 40%26#39;s to 70%26#39;s.
