How to avoid Washington DC area? - Maybe Daddio can help

Live in Upper Delaware and leaving Thursday between 10 and 12 - cannot leave earlier nor much later but want to avoid the Washington DC traffic - ususually take 95 up to Newark, De. and do MB to Newark, Delware in 8.5 to 9 hours (1 stop with no major traffic james)

Has anyone driven below routes - are they fast moving - are there better ones

Thinking of picking up Route 301 north of Richmond and that can take me all way to northern Delware

also

Pick up Route 58 at Emporia and over Cheasapeke Bay Bridge and up through Delaware on Route 13

Avoid I95 at all costs. Go through Dover, Salibury and the brifge/tunnel into Virginia.

OK: Is that 11pm-12am or 11am- 12noon? And are you only asking for your return trip from MB to DE?

Also just wanted to say that 95 IS NOT that bad. Now if you wanted to go the Chesapeake bay Route that might work.

Leaving Myrtle Beach between 10AM and noon so think it would put me in DC area around 5-6PM which could be real traffic jams

so looking for alternative route

I%26#39;m probably too late, but either route will work.

With your timing, I%26#39;d do the 58 to Norfolk %26amp; then north thru DE.

301 is great at first but you would still hit DC traffic at the northern end.
