Has any one been to the Hampton Plantation in McClellanville?

Yes - I have. and quite recently. It is a distance up hwy 17 from Charleston; turn left at the Hampton sign and continue a couple of miles to the plantation on the right.
The grounds are lovely - much less formal but much higher concentration of camellias than other plantations, even rivalling Magnolia Plantation. Wildlife on the property. Nice old home that hasn%26#39;t been too well cared for, with some outbuildings in worse shape. Very serene property - I would almost put this in the category of ';haunted';. All in all it is a lovely place to visit - bring a picnic lunch.

I was there 2 weeks ago. The grounds were very pretty. Best thing it was free unless you took the house tour which was only 4.00. A nice place to spend a couple of hours.
